THE HEIGHTS

The Heights is honestly one of the most walkable neighborhoods in the city. With tons of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, retail stores, and parks to choose from, you’ll never be without entertainment in the area. This neighborhood is a low-key destination inside the Loop for foodies and creative types to come together; its location north of I-10, south of 610 Loop, and west of Highway 45 makes it one of the most accessible neighborhoods in the entire city of Houston.

This neighborhood is in the center of Houston’s Inner Loop. Located just minutes from downtown and the Med Center neighborhood, it has one of the best commutes of any neighborhood to the biggest employment hubs in the greater Houston area. In addition to its crazy accessibility, you’re honestly drowning in bars and restaurants. Uchi, Anvil, Brasil, Underbelly, and Hugo’s are all in the neighborhood. This neighborhood sits comfortably in the corner where the Southwest and Gulf Freeways come together allowing residents quick and easy access to most other areas in Houston. Midtown also has an excellent reputation in biking and walkability which is perfect for when you want to head to one of the 180 nearby bars, restaurants, or coffee shops but don’t feel like driving! If you’re not living in the neighborhood but want to stop by for dinner or drinks, it’s a quick 5-10 minute Uber ride from all the surrounding neighborhoods. Did we mention the METRORail runs right through the neighborhood?

So, you can hop on a train or bus to get to your favorite Downtown hangout. Just because you’re downtown doesn’t mean you’re far from nature either. This neighborhood allows residents access to Buffalo Bayou trails, Discovery Green, and Market Square Park.
