You can’t let the heat and humidity of Houston summers run you out of town.

Please. We love you. Don’t leave.

Instead, post an Instagram boomerang of you dropping out of a seven-story water slide and brag to the world about how well you’re handling these ungodly temps. We’ve compiled a few of our fave spots for cooling off when it feels impossible to breathe outside. Gather your friends, family, or strangers off the street to hit up these parks for a day or weekend trip. As long as you’re almost completely submerged in water at all times you almost don’t even realize the temps have reached triple digits.

Wet N’ Wild SplashTown

If you’re looking to relax and chill out by the pool, this might not be the place for you. This crazy cool destination is for fun-seekers only. Brain Drain, Alien Chaser, and Big Spin are some all-time fave thrill rides but there are 80 total acres of water-filled entertainment. You can also catch concerts, watch dive-in movies, or rent Cabanas for a party to spruce up your visit. Tickets are $46/day at the gate but cheaper if bought in advance.wet n wild houston pool

Typhoon Texas

This park has the laziest river in the city and that’s where you’ll find me. No worries if that’s not your thing, there are slides, a wave pool, and something called slide boarding which mixes video games and a water slide that’s so extra it’s right up Smart City’s alley. There’s also tons of great eats and treats to refuel so you can go all day. Weekend passes are only $46!
