Perfect for
What it’s known for
Outside the Perimeter (OTP) is home to neighborhoods like Smyrna, Vinings, Marietta, Sandy Springs, and parts of East Atlanta. It’s perfect for those who want more space, quieter surroundings, and better value without losing quick access to the city. You’ll find larger floor plans, newer communities, and an easy drive into town for work, dinner, or weekend plans. Your weekend plans are bound to feel a little more laid back in the burbs compared to the hustle of inner-city Atlanta. Marietta Square is a local favorite with its cozy boutiques, cute cafes, and wine bars (honestly, one of my fav spots). Or spend your Sunday strolling through Smyrna Village Green Park, after grabbing a treat from Rev Coffee in hand (my dream date).
While OTP living gives you breathing room, driving into the city can be a haul, especially during rush hour. Highways like I-75, I-85, and GA-400 can get backed up fast, and traffic around The Battery or Perimeter Center can be just as hectic as Midtown at peak times. OTP apartments often offer more space for a better price. Newer developments are popping up fast, giving you plenty of options to choose from, but keep in mind that construction and longer commutes can be part of the trade-off. Overall, there are plenty of apartments outside the perimeter to choose from. If you’re looking for a slower-paced lifestyle with easy access to the city, OTP living might be the perfect fit for you.
