White Rock and Lakewood is where you’ll find the laid-back lake life just 15 minutes out of the city. The neighborhood trades in high-rises and noise pollution for lake living and trail terrain. You get the best of both worlds with slower pace living yet easy accessibility to the city life when you crave it. 

The neighborhood centers around White Rock Lake, not the typical lake for boats on the weekend, but an occasional paddleboard and duck pedal boats will do just fine. The lake is surrounded by a 9-mile loop, which is perfect for runners, walkers, cyclists, and even pet parents. Easy access to green space makes White Rock perfect for picnics and hammocks when the Texas heat becomes bearable. White Rock is also home to the Dallas Arboretum, which never disappoints, no matter how many times you’ve been. 

The residential makeup here is a mix of classic apartments, mid-rises, and new builds. Several of the apartments come with the amenity of having direct access to the White Rock trails and the Santa Fe trail. You won’t find the same density of trendy restaurants and popular places unless you’re closer to the Lakewood area, but you’ll find tons of local gems that deserve the love including Smoky Rose, Hello Dumpling, and Lounge Here.
