Smart City Secures Investment from Owner Resource Group to Fuel Agent Growth and Expansion

Since launching in 2013, Smart City has been focused on one thing: becoming the most trusted, most referred, and most utilized apartment locating service in every city we operate. Today, we’re excited to share a major milestone in that journey.

Smart City has secured outside investment through a strategic partnership with Owner Resource Group, LLC and/or its affiliates (“ORG”), an Austin-based investment firm.

From the beginning, it was clear that ORG was the right partner for Smart City. Their team brings extensive experience growing businesses and shares our strong commitment to culture, purpose, and doing things the right way. Their focus on investing in people and mission-driven organizations made us confident that ORG would support our growth while preserving the values that define Smart City.

We’ve always believed that when we create an exceptional experience for our agents, it naturally translates into an exceptional experience for our clients. This partnership allows Smart City to accelerate the things that matter most to our agent community: better technology, stronger lead generation, new markets to operate in, and continued investment in the people and systems that help our agents succeed.

So we started where it matters most: increasing commissions.

Referral commissions are now as high as 90% on referrals and repeat leases, and tiers are based on lifetime locating revenue. We are accepting revenue generated from previous brokerages to determine your tiers based on your lifetime locating revenue in the industry. The tiers are as follows:

Technology is also foundational to our agents’ success, and we’re committed to providing tools that match that standard. We’re continuing to evolve our CRM into a more powerful, intuitive platform that enables faster, more accurate searches. Over time, this will expand into a more connected experience, including client-facing functionality that enhances transparency and seamlessness across the entire process.
