Hey, hey! It’s Dallasites101 here to welcome you to spring by highlighting one of the most fun & popular neighborhoods in Dallas, Uptown! Whether you’re looking to sip a cocktail on a patio, walk with your furry friend, or relax at a park, Uptown and its neighbor, West Village, make up the epicenter of Dallas and have so much to offer whether you’re new to the Big D or just looking to explore a neighborhood!

Patios and Hot Spots

Patio bars and casual hangs are scattered across Uptown giving the area its lively energy! If you’re looking for a patio, check out our faves The Standard Pour, Bowen House, The Quarter Bar rooftop, or The Nodding Donkey, which is a particularly great spot to catch a game with tons of TVs, an arcade, and backyard games!

Restaurants are always on the move around Uptown, which means that while we’re sad to see some of them leave, we’re also pretty excited to welcome new ones. A trendy new addition to Uptown is Fiatto, an Italian restaurant with an expansive indoor/outdoor space and Instagrammable cocktails! And beloved Mi Cocina fans stay tuned for Uptown’s very own Monkey Bar!

Healthy Eateries

Healthier eating is always an option because Uptown is booming with new healthy spots! Honest Taco recently opened in West Village serving health-centric tacos with GF & V options from their aesthetic test kitchen with a fabulous patio! Plus, the East coast cult-favorite for salads & bowls, Sweetgreen, opened on Mckinney Ave alongside the fast-casual sandwich & salad concept, Mendocino Farms, which is set to open its new location later this year!

The Outdoors

One of our favorite things about Uptown is when the weather calls us outside, where you can always find people enjoying a walk or lounging at a park soaking up the rays. For an inner-city neighborhood, there are plenty of green spaces to check out! Griggs Park is the perfect spot to relax with your pup, enjoy picnics, suntan, read, and catch up with friends while you soak in the views of downtown. Looking for an outdoor activity? Head to Cole Park and snag a tennis court with the crew!

One of the most iconic and famous landmarks in Dallas runs right through Uptown, the 3.5-mile-long Katy Trail! The walk & bike trail winds from the AAC all through Uptown and welcomes furry friends, conversations, walkers, runners, cyclists, or whatever your outdoor fancy might be! And the best part is you can get your exercise, then post up at Katy Trail Ice House, a right of passage for Dallas-goers with an oversized patio, string lights, goblet beers, more than 100 TVs, and insanely good cheese fries!

There’s so much to love about Uptown. It’s not just a fun place to spend the day, but also a great area to live! There are hundreds of residences to choose from, but we’re highlighting a few of our faves from the experts at Smart City Apartments! Cortland M-Line, Carlisle and Vine, and One Oak Grove all sit in the heart of Uptown and offer prime locations.
