GOLD COAST CHICAGO
Gold Coast in one word—fancy. Opulent, if you will. Set just north of Downtown and everything in the Loop, this historic, tree-lined neighborhood is home to architectural gems, high-end shopping, Michelin star restaurants, and some of the best lakefront views in the city. This area has easy access to public transportation options—most CTA lines and bus routes pass through here.
TO DO IN GOLD COAST
If you’re a big believer in retail therapy (yes, that includes window shopping), you’ll be a regular on Oak Street or Magnificent Mile. This area is known for housing tons of designer destinations and upscale boutiques. Once all that shopping makes you hungry, head over to Rush Street for tons of amazing coffee shops, boozy brunch spots, and top-tier restaurants.
More of an outdoorsy type? Gold Coast is also home to Oak Street Beach, where you’ll be able to hang in the sun while admiring those lake views or get your friends together for an amateur (or pro, you never know) sand volleyball game.
