Living in Downtown | LoDo

LoDo, otherwise known as Lower Downtown, is located in the heart of the city and truly the epicenter of Denver’s urban core. Catch a Nuggets or Avs game at Ball Arena, a summer concert series at Civic Center Park, or kick back and relax by the Confluence at Commons Park. Whether you need a quick bite, a night out, or some nature amongst the city skyline, Downtown Denver offers a vibrant lifestyle fit for the always-on-the-go individual. Amongst the historic brick buildings, you’ll find Denver’s Union Station, Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row, and the 16th Street Mall… we mean 16th Street! (Link to the inside joke for transplants. Don’t worry; we’ve got you.) And when you have friends or family in town, have them stay at the infamous Rally Hotel in McGregor Square, just across from Coors Field, for the ultimate Downtown Denver immersive experience. 

The one caveat we’ll warn you of is that Downtown is, well, Downtown! You can expect consistent street noise, little access to free on-street parking, and traffic. The good news is, you likely won’t be driving around in that traffic too often, considering your Lodo apartment is just around the corner! Granted, you can expect to see higher rents here. For the relative unit size, you’ll be paying more per square foot, but factoring in the neighborhood’s walkability and access, we chalk it up to being the price you pay to play! If proximity to your favorite spots is a big priority, LoDo could be a top pick. Plus, if you’re a new-to-Denver transplant, there’s no better way to immerse yourself in the Denver culture than diving right into life in Downtown.
