Living in City Park | Uptown

Uptown, also once known as North Cap Hill, sits just West of the expansive City Park (Cheesman’s older, more mature sister park), and the popular foodie hub, 17th Street’s Restaurant Row. If you’re torn between the city & the burbs, let us share why Uptown could be the perfect middle ground. The neighborhood sports a notable bend of cozy neighborhood vibes mixed with urban cityscapes that leave you feeling refreshed while still actually living in the city. With a booming food scene along 17th and beyond, you can expect immaculate food at local to Denver spots like Cafe Miriam, Stuben’s Uptown, Pho & bar, Ace Eat Serve, just to name a few. As for the bar scene, calling all dive bar and dive bar adjacent lovers, because Uptown is home to the one and only Thin Man x St Mark’s Coffee House duo, dishing out caffeine during the day (and well, pretty late into the night too) and low-lit, grungy, drunk cigs vibes when it gets dark. With a hidden comedy cellar in the basement, check and Thin Man next time you’re looking for a good time, and you can thank us later. On a more wholesome note, check out the one and only City Park Jazz Nights, held weekly on Sundays throughout the summer. Pro tip: Catch a swan boat while you’re at it; they light up at night, making for a silly paddle or a romantic outing.

With the neighborhood offering options that fit your personal lifestyle needs, you can choose to live closer to transit access on the west end, or if you already have a car, expand your search toward City Park. Since this central Denver neighborhood is a mix of old and new buildings, you’ll see a lot of price variation when looking for your next Denver rental. But we’ve got your back on making sure you get the best deal available, so no matter what budget you’re working with, make sure to keep Uptown on your list! Additionally, the only negative we see here is the occasional limited street parking. Still, if we’re being honest, it’s nothing to sweat over, not like Downtown or Golden Triangle at least!
