Living in River District

Ever wonder why it’s called the River District? The Trinity River runs right through it. Located about 15 minutes west of downtown Fort Worth, this area is fairly new and still developing.

You’ll hear names like “Westworth Village,” “River Oaks,” and “White Settlement Road” tossed around they’re all neighboring pockets that blend closely with the district. Chances are, if you’re apartment hunting out here, your locator might expand the search a bit further west since rental options start thinning out past this point. Still, the River District holds its own charm. The Trinity Trails are one of its biggest draws, perfect for catching sunsets and offering outdoor views. In the spring and fall, you’ll find everyone out walking dogs, biking, running, even horseback riding. It’s an active community, but at a slower pace.

While it’s not as fast-paced as downtown, it’s still very central and offers an easygoing vibe without sacrificing proximity. (you’re less than 15 minutes from all the action.) Expect to see a lot of shiny new things here: apartments, restaurants, bars, and more (like Heim BBQ, Gemelle, and other buzzy spots). With all the growth, you can also expect ongoing construction as the city continues to invest in the area. Rent prices reflect the newness, (starting around $1,300+ for a one-bedroom) but with the mix of nature, convenience, and chill energy, it might be worth it if you’re into that kind of lifestyle.
