Everybody loves catching a game at their favorite sports bar where they can yell at the 20 surrounding TVs alongside fellow fans. And, if there’s one thing Dallasites love the most, it’s Dallas sports.  From the atmosphere to the food, to beer; from Uptown to Knox/Henderson, to Victory Park – we broke down our favorite spots to catch a game in Dallas!

UPTOWN

Katy Trail Ice House

The Katy Trail Icehouse: the Dallas institution where the beer is always cold and your dog is always welcome! Located right in the heart of Uptown, this was the first bar we were ever told to visit. Their patio is a classic go-to for any occasion, but be sure to arrive early on a big game day – it fills up fast and sometimes has a pretty long line! Luckily they just expanded the patio, though, so there’s a lot more room for *drinking* activities! ∙ Directions

Christies

Located in the heart of downtown Dallas, Christies has been around for a very long time and rated one of Dallas’ best sports bars. They also have 60 TVs and amazing drink specials including $5.50 whiskeys and $6.50 vodka drinks on Sundays! ∙ Directions

Happiest Hour

This Uptown gem took sports bar watching to a whole new level! With what feels like a hundred TVs (really 60+) scattered between multiple spaces, inside and outside, up and down, Happiest Hour is a go-to for any American Airlines sporting event pre-gaming or spectating! Drop by before a Dallas Stars game and you’ll come into, what seems like, a sea of vibrant green. ∙ Directions

LOWER GREENVILLE

Stans Blue Note

Stans Blue Note is a quintessential Dallas sports bar, and while it used to be known as quite the dive, it recently got a facelift, transforming it into a primo spot to catch any college or professional sports game. Not to mention, they’re a fan favorite when it comes to food and were recently voted best bar food in 2019 by D magazine. ∙  Directions

Slaters 50/50

Slaters is known for their “best damn happy hour,” which happens twice a day! Oh, and they have a burger that is made up of 50% beef and 50% bacon – intense, right?! They also have over a thousand different craft beers (yeah, read that again), and a fabulous rooftop so you can watch the game with one of the best city views in the background! ∙ Directions

STATE ALLEN

Nodding Donkey

The Nodding Donkey has been attracting sports viewers to its casual Neighborhood corner patio bar for years. And what makes them stand out?! Besides hosting the best sports bar feels and great drinks (of course), they also have a scratch kitchen! So, while you’re watching the game, or drinking your favorite beer, their chef will be in the back cooking up all the best snacks to keep you cheering all day/night long. ∙ Directions

KNOX/ HENDERSON

Skellig

Located off Henderson, Skellig is definitely one of our go-to bars in general but it’s also a great place to catch a game! They have a really awesome draft list, and they change it up weekly.  Plus, they just opened their new outdoor beer garden, so more space for eating, drinking and watching! ∙ Directions

Capitol Pub

Another great go-to on Henderson! Capitol Pub has a divey Irish pub vibe, with some of the sweetest owners! They really care about this establishment, which is seen in the quality of food and drinks. They also have Dallas Cowboys game-day specials and love to deck their space out for certain holidays, but visit soon because it’s (sadly) closing at the end of the year! ∙ Directions

VICTORY PARK

Hero

Hero has quite literally been every girl’s hero by transcending the classic sports bar experience to one that’s beautiful and clean, and boasts delicious craft cocktails! Did we mention this HG Sply Co sister restaurant is absolutely gorgeous? Plus, it’s conveniently located beside the American Airlines Center, which is even better. It’s MASSIVE and has screens everywhere, with private rooms to rent out for game-day watching. ∙ Directions

Dibs

Another new sports bar located in the heart of Victory Park, just a block away from the American Airlines Center. From the same guys behind High Fives and Alice, Dibs is a little more upscale with their craft cocktails and food, including 24K gold-dusted wings! And we’ll let you in on a little secret: drinking here might land you near some Dallas athletes since they like to hang out there, too! ∙ Directions

DOWNTOWN

Frankies

Good ole Frankies – how could we pass them up! Frankies is your typical downtown sports bar. It’s exactly what you think of when you think of a sports bar, from the masculine vibes to the fried food and beer/well selection, to million-and-one TVs!  Fun fact: they also have an underground bar that resembles underground pop up bars from the prohibition era! ∙ Directions

Scout

Twelve thousand square feet of pure sports bar fun! Besides all the TVs for game watching, Scout also lets you get in on the fun yourself from bowling to ping pong, to pool and more! They also have game-day specials every Sunday like $5 touchdown bites including wings, a 7 layer dip and pretzel bites to tailgate, plus $5 wells and beers! ∙ Directions

EAST DALLAS

Ross and Hall Kitchen & Beer Garten

Located on the corner of Ross Ave and Hall St, sits a chill, little sports bar with some of the best deals in town! One of the newer bars on the list, Ross and Hall Kitchen & Bar also has been a name for itself because of its expansive beer garden-esque patio. We like this spot because they have a little more upscale vibe BUT they still have tons of beers and TVs for all you Cowboy fans! And if the Cowboys ever play on a Monday, you can take advantage of their “buy a drink and get two slices of pizza free” special. ∙ Directions

SMU BOULEVARD

Milo’s

Okay, so we know we have said this about a few bars on this list BUT Milo’s really is another Dallas staple. It is the true definition of a dive bar & a sports bar, and was solidified as an iconic bar back in 1989 when it was featured in a scene of Tom Cruise’s Born on the Fourth of July! While it’s always a great spot for the ‘Boys, it’s even better for SMU games! Just don’t miss those mozzarella sticks! ∙ Directions
