Hey y’all, Dallasites101 here! Companies are still in the thick of working remotely (a concept we definitely don’t hate), and our small team loves getting together at coffee shops around Dallas to work. These makeshift office spaces serve as a  nice change of scenery from our kitchen tables and sofas, and are a great way to support small local businesses, too!

There are so many great coffee shops in the metroplex – you could easily experience a new one every week! To start, we rounded up our top 10 favorite coffee shops throughout eight local neighborhoods to expand your WFH vibes.

FOUNT BOARD & TABLE

Uptown

One of our favorite places to work from is the home-turned-coffee shop, Fount Board and Table. Located right across from Whole Foods in Uptown, step inside an eclectic space with velvet couches, plants, and antique furniture (*read: moody and relaxing*). Beyond their coffee (we recommend the salted caramel latte with oat milk), they also have an impressive food menu including their infamous charcuterie boards, a delicious garden sandwich with goat cheese, and a yummy grilled cheese so you can continue working through lunch.

OLD MONK

Knox/Henderson

If Old Monk is one of your favorite spots for weekend brunch, you’ll love it for your weekday office! During Covid, the beloved bar on Henderson Avenue transformed into a coffee bar in order to stay afloat and it’s the best thing ever! Their coffee is simple and tasty (we love the chai latte) and they also have fabulous breakfast tacos. The space is great for a small team meeting because it’s usually pretty empty and quiet. They also have a covered and heated patio so you can work outside no matter the elements.

LA LA LAND

Lower Greenville, Lovers Lane, and Oak Lawn

It seems like a new La La Land location opens up every week, and for good reason! The coffee shop built on employing fostered youth and spreading kindness has opened three coffee shops in Dallas since their first location on Lower Greenville, including locations on Lovers Lane and Oak Lawn. All locations are bright and spacious with minimalist decor, offering a relaxing vibe that lasts all day. Their menu is also pretty big and features an array of specialty lattes (we recommend the ‘perfect latte’), matchas, treats, and gourmet toasts. There is truly something for everyone.

FUNNY LIBRARY

Design District

In our opinion, this is one of the prettiest coffee shops on our list. Funny Library is the perfect place to work all day simply because the decor is so amazing and unlike anything we’ve seen! Located inside the new Virgin Hotel in the Design District, find a spot at one of the private tables with velvet love seats or spread out at the long conference table with you and your crew. There’s also a restaurant with a stunning bar attached to transition your work hour to happy hour.

TOASTED

Lower Greenville

If you’re looking for a spacious place with tons of coffee and food options, Toasted on Lower Greenville is a great spot to post up! With two levels and a large, enclosed patio, it’s one of the biggest coffee shops on the list. We love the patio for a lunch meeting or the second-floor nook for a quiet and cozy experience. Bonus – the enclosed patio is dog friendly! You can get some work done without leaving your furry friend at home!

LA REUNION

Bishop Arts

One of our top spots to study or work in Bishop Arts is La Reunion. It’s a quieter place and isn’t usually super crowded, which we like. We love spreading out in one of the cozy booths (they all have outlets) or you can pull up a seat at the bar and talk with one of the friendly bartenders while they serve up your choice of crafted drinks, whether that’s from the cafe or cocktail menu! They also have a great overflow patio for when the weather is nice.

WHITE RHINO

Bishop Arts

White Rhino is a newer coffee shop just outside Bishop Arts. It’s one of our favorites for when we want a specialty coffee or if we plan on eating while working. They have a variety of signature coffee drinks and lattes (try the toasted coconut latte) plus an extensive tea menu, so you never have to order the same thing twice! Their impressive food menu ranges from an amazing chicken salad sandwich and a variety of toasts and biscuits. And stay tuned for their State Thomas location opening March 2021!

HALCYON

Greenville

A signature coffee shop located in middle Greenville, Halcyon has become a go-to spot for any day or time of the week. It is super Instagrammable and offers spacious indoor seating with an even-cuter patio with succulents and plants galore. And if you happen to find yourself working here all day, the space transitions into a pretty nice happy hour scene – hello espresso martinis!

WAYWARD COFFEE

Oak Cliff

Wayward Coffee opened a storefront recently in Oak Cliff after starting as a mobile set-up in a 1975 VW bus. Their space is minimalist yet cozy with huge windows, natural light, and an abundance of plants. It’s a perfect haven for getting some work done with ample outlets, speedy wifi, and friendly baristas. And when it comes to the coffee – it’s delicious!

MURRAY STREET

Deep Ellum

Probably one of the most hidden gems on our list, Murray Street Coffee Shop is located on Main Street on the east side of Deep Ellum. It’s a local coffee legend to the people of the neighborhood and provides the perfect environment to work if you’re keen on good music and a tranquil atmosphere. The space is cozy with a large rug and seats with pillows but you can also head upstairs to the loft for even more privacy. If you stop by, try the infamous Blinker breakfast sandwich!
