5 Ways to leap into Spring
Hey, y’all- it’s the girls from Dallasites101, here to share our excitement for spring! It seems like the weather warmed up overnight and we are definitely not complaining. Springtime is a lovely season in Dallas with parks, trails, and patios bustling again and everyone enjoying the nice temperatures before the Texas heat has us longing for the indoors.
In addition to soaking up this prime Texas weather, it’s also a great time to reset and refresh old habits. Here are 5 easy ways to take full advantage of Spring:
C.O.D.E. – Cleanout & donate everything
Switch out those chunky sweaters for bright colors, then choose a few things you know it’s time to let go of and donate them! With the residual effects of Winter Storm Uri, there are so many families in need of clothing items. Genesis Women’s Shelter and The Family Place are awesome non-profits that always accept clothing and shoe donations. And if you find yourself swapping out decor, send lightly-loved furniture, toys, and books to Dwell with Dignity!

Plan a picnic
One of our favorite pandemic-inspired, socially-distanced trends is a picnic party! You don’t even have to plan it yourself – companies like The Styled Affair,Soiree Girl, and Uptown Picnic Co will plan all the details for you with the cutest tables, pillow rentals, and details! Pick up a gorgeous charcuterie board from Fount Board and Table or Amor y Queso, grab a bottle of wine from Neighborhood Cellar or Bar and Garden, and head to Griggs Park, White Rock Lake, or Connor Park to have yourself an afternoon!
Refresh your space
Flowers are blooming and colors are coming back to life outside, and studies show having plants in your home improves your mood and increases productivity by 15 percent! Our favorite places to shop for plants are Riubals, Waltans Garden Center, and Oasis Plant Shop, or pick up a stunning bouquet from Petal Pushers.
You can also leverage a play on fun colors and prints through tiny design touches. Districtt is a convenient service that allows you to rent trendy furniture including dressers, beds, nightstands, tables, and even pillows! Or, leverage our friends at Beyond Interior Design to switch up your space permanently.
Dine on a patio
Of course, we can’t talk about nice weather without talking about patios! There seems to be a sweet spot where it’s not too cold or too hot for outside dining and we love to take advantage. Find us every weekend at Toller Patio, Skellig, Jaxon Beer Garden, Chelsea Corner, or Dots Hop House. If a spring shower happens to roll in, Taverna, Christie’s Sports Bar, Vidorra, Old Monk, and Standard Pour offer covered patios.

Deep clean your apartment
They don’t call it spring cleaning for nothing! We’ve been cooped up in our homes for a few months, especially working remotely, and our space could definitely use extensive cleaning. There’s only so much we can do with a vacuum and Clorox wipes, so we like to leave it to the professionals and call More Hands, HP HouseKeeping, and Modern Maids. Gotta do what ya gotta do to transform your apartment into a clean, bright oasis!
