Temps have dropped, the time has “fallen” back and any of us living in an apartment without a fireplace are queuing up the “Yule log fireplace” on Netflix – it must be fall in Texas! Since seasons are celebrated a little differently this year, there’s a chance we might not be breaking out the sweaters, scarves, knee-highs, and boots like we would in years prior. But, that doesn’t mean we can’t ring in the fall in a variety of other ways!
Here are 10 different ways your local Dallas experts (that’s us) suggest welcoming fall in The Metroplex:
Plan a Friendsgiving soiree
With fall looking a little different than it typically does, maybe it’s time to host your own intimate harvest-themed event for a safe and fun evening in! And we have everything you need to make it a hit. Have a staycay in a cozy hotel
As one of our favorite spots in the city, this one is a no brainer! When it comes to hotels, the historic Adolphus Hotel takes the cake! It’s one of the original downtown Dallas buildings with stylish vintage decor sprinkled with modern touches perfect for every season, especially fall. The rooms are exceptionally comfy and spacious with sweeping downtown views and there are cozy spots to hole up in all around like Otto’s coffee and the many lounge spaces. Pro tip: They host half-priced wine bottle nights in the lobby Wednesday and Thursday evenings after 5 pm! Also, be sure to check out the “Happenings” mirror posted in the lobby of everything going on at the hotel!
Warm-up with a bowl of ramen
When the temperatures dip into soup weather, it’s time to start planning where to grab that perfect bowl of ramen and Uncommon Ramen at Uchiba has your back! Each month Uchiba will be creating ramen inspired by one of the chefs from past series that you can score every Monday night for $15 through March 2021 for dine-in AND takeout! They’re so delectable and delicious plus a great way to ward off the chilly fall days!
Sip a fall-themed cocktail
Whether you’re into hot drinks or cold in the fall season, sipping a seasonal cocktail sounds so fitting for this time of year. And some seasonal cocktails can be found at really fun places, too! Master baked goods for holiday parties
With fall comes holiday parties, whether they be family or friends. With a surge of drive-ins that took over during COVID summer, we’re reaping the rewards now that the weather is so enjoyable! There’s quite a few to choose from all over town like Movies in the Park at Griggs Park, Rooftop Cinema Club, and Klyde Warren Park’s Movies in the Park. So grab all the blankets you can find, order some takeout and snuggle up for a way more comfortable alternative to the summer drive-ins past!
Take a ghost tour of Dallas
The fall season can have a spooky factor to it which is prime time for ghost hunting! Keep your eyes peeled for some paranormal activity while learning about the haunted side of Dallas that very few talk about!
