Let’s be honest, budgets are stretched thin and sometimes rent is hard to swing when you start looking for an apartment in Dallas! We’re here to explain how you can live in a NICER place for LESS money! The TIF Affordable Housing Program, previously known as InTown Housing, helps people making between $36,540 and $46,550/year pay cheaper rent (for a studio, check below for other options)! You also have to make 3 times the rent as well to qualify.

If you qualify for this program, there are about 8 properties in Dallas that offer TIF Housing units! These apartments go fast because there is a limited number but it is definitely worth it because you’re getting discounted rent AND a nice, up-to-date apartment! Here are some of our favorite properties offering TIF Housing units!

You’ll have easy access to I-35 and the Dallas Tollway and also be close to Uptown and Downtown! You’re only a quick Uber from all of your favorite neighborhoods. If you happen to work for a hospital, you’ll be within walking distance to work, which is a huge plus!

For one bedrooms/studios, you MUST make below $46,550/year, yet you do still need to prove that you make at least three times the monthly rent amount.  Also, if you’d like to have a two bedroom TIF housing unit, the two occupants cannot have a combined gross income exceeding $53,200.

Your gross income includes your base salary, commissions, bonus structure, and overtime. This total must be less than $46,550/year if you live by yourself. Rates/income requirements are subject to change! We try our best to keep this up to date, but we can’t promise 100% accuracy! But, our Smart City agents have all the updated deets so hit us up and they can always help you out!

There are different qualifying wages depending on the number of occupants on the lease, so check out the TOTAL minimum and maximum combined income caps to qualify.

  • 2 occupants – min. $41,940 to max. $53,200
