Getting Your Healthy Nom On In Houston
Restaurants in the Houston area far outnumber the gyms so it makes sense that Men’s Fitness named Houston as the #1 Fattest City in America. My belly is so happy and sad about this at the same time. As much as we all love curling up in bed with an entire pizza so we can Netflix and chill (Nope? Just me?), we’ve got a list of the tastiest healthy food options in the Houston area. If you walk from your car to the door it counts as exercise, right?
True Food Kitchen
With locations all around the country, True Food Kitchen is healthy eating done right. They use fresh, local foods for their dishes that include gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. The menu rotates regularly to showcase seasonal fruits and veggies. A renowned physician helped to establish True Food Kitchen to ensure the food being offered helps to avoid and counteract some serious health issues. Try the Margherita pizza or Red Chili Noodles next time you’re in the area!

Juice Girl
Houston’s only 100% organic juice and smoothie bar! Juice Girl is now serving some kickass acai bowls as well (see picture below that we’re literally drooling over). This quaint little shop has incredible service and the juice and smoothies are so refreshing on a hot day. Not like we have any of those in Houston, though. Pink Robot and Cool Breeze are a couple of our favorites!
Green Seed Vegan
#TakeAVeggieBreak at Green Seed Vegan in the Museum District. This raw and vegan cafe serves soy and gluten free food that’s to die for. Don’t let the name throw you off, this place will fill you up on hand-cut dill fries and a veggie burger so you’ll never leave hungry. Green Seed Vegan has a little something for everyone–including all you diehard BBQ lovers.
Corner Table
If the Paleo diet is your thing, Corner Table should be your place. This Paleo inspired upscale restaurant serves lunch, dinner, and drinks in an amazing, laid-back atmosphere. Executive Chef Eric Aldis has stocked the menu with everything from wood-fired pizzas to burgers and sandwiches.
