I’m sure you knew it was coming, but we’re about to hit you with the most hipster of all the blogs.

There is nothing quite like finding a corner table at a coffee shop, opening your laptop, and pretending to be doing something really important when you’re actually just browsing Reddit. The shop has got to be local because chains are too mainstream, there must be indie/folk music playing in the background, and at least one barista with a sleeve of tattoos. As much fun as it is to make fun of hipsters, they might be on to something. These are some of the most unique, tastiest coffee shops in Houston:

Throughgood Coffee

Throughgood Coffee in the Heights serves coffee with a cause. Whether you’re just looking for a cup of coffee or want to grab some tea and a snack, this place delivers the best of all three. The company began by serving meals to the homeless and has since founded an organization called Temenos Community Development Corporation that serves people transitioning from challenging lives to more stability. The reclaimed interior walls make for a cozy setting to sit and enjoy your cup o’ joe. Open weekdays at 6:30 a.m. and weekends at 8 a.m.
