In March, renowned business-media brand Inc. Magazine released the Inc. 5000 Regionals: Texas results. The second annual regional ranking honored the state’s most successful independent businesses according to their revenue growth percentages from 2017 to 2019. Of the 250 Texas companies selected, Smart City Locating placed 87th.

“Being included on Inc’s list of fast-growing companies is an honor and no doubt the result of hard work put in by everyone on our team,” says Smart City’s Chief Financial Officer, Russell Chance. Smart City experienced 144% revenue growth from 2017 to 2019, with annual earnings increasing from $7.7 million to more than $22 million.

“While growth brings its challenges, it’s been amazing to see agents and employees rally around our mission of helping more renters find a space to be themselves,” says Chance. “I’m proud to say the growing pains that come with this level of expansion are faced head-on across the company, and we have no intention of standing still any time soon.”

The Texas-based apartment locating company was also previously recognized on Inc. 5000’s annual list of the fastest-growing private companies in America both in 2019 (no. 670) and 2020 (no. 1086). In addition to revenue, Smart City’s recent national expansion continues to increase market penetration by servicing a total of ten cities across America–seven of which opened within the last year. The complete results of this year’s Inc. 5000 Regionals: Texas list can be found at inc.com/inc5000/regionals/texas.
