Olmos Park Neighborhood Overview

While Olmos Park is a part of the larger San Antonio, it isn’t any less grand. Operating under its own municipality, residents, and renters of Olmos Park Apartments take pride in sustaining their suburban community in the middle of the city. They enjoy their own fire, police, and environmental service departments. It even boasts a mini downtown, with eateries, coffee shops, and bars lining McCullough Avenue.

In addition to its beautiful estates and colorful culinary scene, Olmos Park has four parks and a history dating back to 1920. Of course, residents of Olmos Park are always just a few miles north of San Antonio Downtown, giving them easy access to big-city amenities.

Things to Do Around Olmos Park San Antonio

Olmos Park may seem like a small town with roughly 2,000 residents living along the quaint and quiet streets within the 0.6-square-mile city, but its list of activities and events can quickly fill your calendar.

One of the best draws to Olmos is its parks. With four parks filling the town, there are plenty of trails for walking, biking, and enjoying the outdoors. The largest of the four parks, Alameda Circle, also hosts three separate annual events that bring all of its neighbors out to play. You won’t want to miss The King Antonio Party, the 4th of July Parade, or the “Night Out” in October.

New residents will be happy to take a bite out of Olmos, too, enjoying everything from small sandwich shops to quality, gourmet dining from around the world. Some of our favorite restaurants include 225 Urban Smoke, Singhs, Toro Kitchen + Bar, Julia’s Bistro & Bar, and Nonna Osteria. We also recommend meeting up with a new neighborhood friend at JUICEssential, Summer Moon Coffee Bar, or Commonwealth Coffeehouse and Bakery.
