SPRING, TEXAS
Not to be confused with the similarly named neighborhood Spring Branch, Spring is a growing north Houston suburb roughly 30 minutes from Downtown.
On top of chain retail and restaurants popping up right and left, Spring has plenty of unique entertainment options to choose from. With history as a railroad stop in the late 1800s, buildings in Old Town Spring that once housed saloons and supply shops now play host to restaurants, bars, antique shops, and novelty stores. Supernatural buffs can even take a ghost tour to learn more about the area’s storied past and visit (allegedly) haunted sites!
Being about 25 miles out from the city center, the wider suburban sprawl leaves room for mature trees to grow and more forested areas to explore. Hike, bike, and enjoy the scenery at the 12,000-acre Spring Trails Preserve, or get in some wildlife sightseeing at the Mercer Botanic Gardens. When the summer heat hits, Texas’ largest waterpark Six Flags Hurricane Harbor is in your neighborhood!
Spring residents enjoy easy access to major highways like I-45, Grand Parkway, and the Hardy Toll for commutes into and around the city.
