Living in Westlake

Leave Downtown behind and head out west! The area just west of Central Austin is known as Westlake; it’s scenic with rolling hills and many sparkling water spots. Westlake is known for being a prestigious area of Austin, with gorgeous mansions scattering the horizon and close proximity to Lake Travis. Living here puts you near the neighborhoods of Westwood, Westlake Hills, Lost Creek, and Rollingwood to name a few.

Westlake is home to untouched natural beauty, known to locals as “The Greenbelt”. The Greenbelt is 12 miles of hike/bike trails, water holes, and picnic spots situated on Barton Creek, extending from the western tip of Westlake all the way to Zilker Park. There are several access points near Westlake apartments to the Barton Creek Greenbelt, where one can find Austin water hotspots like Sculpture and Twin Falls.

Just outside of Westlake, the Hill Country Galleria is conveniently situated at the gateway to Hill Country. From small boutiques to name brands, the Galleria is a mecca for shopaholics from around the Lone Star State. Complete with diners and Mexican cantinas, wash down your shopping experience with a classic Mexican martini. For those who live more central or prefer indoor shopping, the Barton Creek Square Mall is located just off Loop 360 and Mopac, and has over 150 stores to peruse when that direct deposit hits.
